Your Templates can be set to easily gather data from the user, from databases or pre-set lists when the the Wizard is used, enabling users to customize the essential information in your designs, while not having to worry about formatting or layouts. This saves huge amounts of time!

Variable Data

GreatLabel gives you unrivalled flexibility in your label and tag printing with a range of powerful variable data methods.

Text as list: a unique option that lets you type lists of data directly into any heading or text element of your design. Each item of text in your lists will be printed in turn.
Serial numbers: Incremental serial numbers are a breeze! You can also place pre- and post-fixed text with your serial number, making the solution idea for palleting and order shipping.
Dates: Print the current date in either short or long formats. Terrific for perishable or green goods.
Database-linked text: Power your designs from databases (Microsoft Access, dBase or even Excel spreadsheets.) Using GreatLabel's unquie 'dual view' (search and detail panels) of the linked database and live preview of all variable data, you can quickly integrate databases fields into your designs and enable flexible batch printing processes. Smart-text formatting ensures that headings that are linked to fields in databases automatically resize to fit the design, while text elements automatically word-wrap to provide the most readable view of the text.
Database-stored images: Images and photos stored in databases can also be used as variable, data-based linked images in your design. Options to preserve image aspect ratio and automatic resizing of images complete the easiest and quickest way to fully automate your labelling for retail, wholesale and security purposes.
Database-linked images on disk: This unique feature allows you to simply store the location of an image as a text field in a database, or spreadsheet, and have GreatLabel search the network for the image and automatically load it into your design. Now you can use large folders filled with images and photos of your products directly with databases and spreadsheets, to completely automate label production.

Smart Printing

Unlike other labelling and tagging software, GreatLabel is powered by a purpose-built engine that ensures high-quality results every time.

Pre-rendering of colors: All graphics and colors are pre-rendered prior to being sent to the printer. This ensures blended colors, transparencies, text shadows and other color effects are printed perfectly - no more cross-hatching and bleeding effects!
Fast complex printing: Pre-rending of the images also speeds up printing of complex designs.
Network support: Send your print job to any printer on your network, and have specific printers associated with specific designs.
Batch printing: Power your batch-printing with database integration. Mix and match data, print one or many of any design.

User-friendly instruction on what type of data can be stored in what barcode formats - one screen alerts when data is not applicable.
Automatic calculation of check-digits, or override these with your own values.
Full control over the text formatting of the human readable aspects of your barcodes.
